Ingredients required to make Old fashioned Sloppy Joes recipe : 

Old fashioned Sloppy Joes recipe


1. 1 pound lean ground beef .

2. ¼ cup chopped onion .

3. ¼ cup chopped green bell pepper .

4. ¾ cup ketchup or according to taste .

5. 1 tablespoon brown sugar , or according to taste .

6. 1 tablespoon yellow mustard or according to taste .

7. ½ tablespoon garlic powder .

8. Salt and ground black pepper according to taste .

9. 6 hamburger buns , split .

Step 1 : 

Heat a large skillet over medium heat . Cook and stir lean ground beef in the hot skillet until some of the fat starts to render , approximately 3 to 5 minutes . Add onion and bell pepper. And continue to cook until vegetables have to soften and beef is cooked through 5 to 7 minutes more .

Step 2 : 

Stir in ketchup, brown sugar mustard , and garlic powder , season with salt and pepper . Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes approximately .

Step 3 : 

Divide meat mixture evenly among hamburger buns .
